    A few OE parts from fancy trucks
    Won't do anything but allow dirt and water in your engine bay from the topside.

    Yes, you bought a truck with a faux scoop.

    Yes, it's just as slow as all the non scooped Tacomas.

    No, opening up the scoop will not make it faster.

    And there no 'racing' in TRD gear, other than the SC. Everything else is just bling badging.

    I removed mine and now I win races and pull bitches. I also get 32mpg city driving on 35's. It works well with my tornado intake.

    Yes, but that was added later on so it has no effect on my results. I only noticed a small improvement after the K&N performance sticker mod.

    According to Mike Sweers, removing the insert will create more turbulence in the engine bay, which will lead to a decrease in mpg :notsure:
