Still trying to decide on a step. Sat in a 16 access cab today that had predator steps. I liked them. If I'm looking used, will second gen steps fit a 3rd gen?

    Same goes for tube steps.

    Thanks.

They are Raptor 5" Black Oval Nerf Bars. Got them from Running Board Warehouse. The package contained install instructions for an '07-'14 model Tacoma, I seem to recall.

Late to the party here, but I'm assuming 3rd gen stock tube steps will fit a 2nd gen right?

I’m just trying to offload mine to get sliders. I didn’t want to say they’d fit a 2nd gen and up not. I never understood why tacoma’s came with stock steps anyway. I don’t know about anyone else, but they’re pretty much useless for me.

I'm pretty short. I test drove Tacomas before I decided. The Predator steps made it much easier for me to get into the truck. But at the end of the day, I decided that, for me, they would be too much of a liability when I go off-road. If I was the kind of guy that never went off-road, a mall-crawler, I would have gone with the Predators. Instead, I went with the 3 inch ovals. If and when those get trashed, I'll go with sliders, probably flat instead of angled, so that I still have some kind of step to help me getting in. Never had any problem getting out, just slide my ass right down there!

Man, seems like most of you guys don't have small children. My need for steps stems from helping my kids climb up on their own. o_O
