I mean, the Pro is the biggest outlier, probably shooting for the deep enthusiasts pockets. But that 17k difference is about 12k for the Limited. That's a big chunk o' change, but it's mostly inflation, ppp, and a new gen. My point wasn't about MSRP though, but rather the pittance you save in the used market.

So the dealer that has the the Limited I am looking for had it at 44.9k under 5k miles. It is exactly what I want, but then they fluffed it for 3k. I told them pound sand. They called back today and asked what it would take to make a deal, I said msrp otd, Thats it and I will strongly consider it... they are 6.5hrs away. Or thinking about going thru Jim Rouleau for a 24 Limited 53-4k msrp minus 3k off the msrp 51k ish. Around 9k delta btwn the 23 and 24...Basically cant make up my freakin mind. I like the new tech of the 24 but like the known reliability of the 23 v6.

$45k is entirely too close to a $51k. Even at $42k, I think I'd rather spring for a new one. But 2023s have to be feeling the same downward pressures that 2024s are, with interest rates being gonzo. I think you can press them.

Yep, I looked at and almost purchased a 2022 Tacoma, a decided for $5k more I could get a new truck with more head room, and options I wanted.

Yep, and J Rouleau has better financing than NFCU/USAA so it might very well be a 24, too bad they dont have 6ft beds. I predict the 23 ltd dealer will piss me off.

yea planning to stick with 1st and 2nd gen as long as I can. Personally think people are sleeping on the 4.0L 4runner limited’s full time 4wd, same system on the LC

I paid 52k for a 22 pro (18k mi.) back April that had an original (2022) sticker price of 54k. Now on paper that looks like a pittance but I also know that in major cali markets the dealers were getting 60k plus for new 22 and 23 pros. The new pros 70k+? ….Has anyone seen the new one?

Not a production one. Saw the pre-production at the state fair.

Yea, and that's just interior/convenience upgrades. The whole chassis has been reworked. Meanwhile the powerplant and transmission are huge upgrades, where the gen3 mostly just stood still. If blind taste tests were thing for trucks, tasters would understand where every dollar of that 12k bump went.

You put a 1 in front of the 2!

People forget, Toyota is pushing the margins.
Flat panel displays are not expensive, everyone thinks big screens for the radio and cluster are luxury, but they're actually cheaper.
Oh, and the fact they pay much less for Mexican labor....

The main costs for the new truck mostly going to be the more complicated engine and better transmission.

$2k bump is all it's worth considering who they're paying to assemble it

Yep, that's $2k of marginal improvement, $10k in inflation.

Owned them both. They both had their pluses/minuses.

4.0 wheezed and ran out of steam above 3.5k RPM.

3.5 would pull to red line and seemed happy to do it but who wants to be towing a trailer up a steep grade with the engine howling away?

I hear the turbo four isn't all that it's cracked up to be but decided to go Tundra. No ragrets. I'm utterly unconcerned about the recall.

Ugh, well ill give a run on sentence, bad punctuality and perhaps not be grammer correct but here goes…….im sure ill get blasted here but hey whatever….first off im going to buy a new 2024. Tacoma, i need a new truck and my 2014 4 runner is ready for a change. Those feeling the pricing isnt genuine, or legit ill say, those holding on to older tacomas excited they are worth great value ..there you go. Good to you your taco has held great value and dependability . To us that will be purchasing new trucks , i get it the price increases, im not a fan of the stupid dealership packs, or port add ons thats a money grab, ill be happy buying at MSRP, with extras i want ..simple, i can order and wait , dealerships i dont need your financing ill write a check, But a shout out to the guys in prior year tacos. Good for you , the value in your trucks is good , paying $10,000 over on specific models doesnt fir me, but to those that do good for you guys, and with this in mind only adds the long term resale, value we all experiance with our toyotas……not a dig to any generations, ive owned them since i was 18. Im 58. Technology has come a long way and we all benefit , im excited to get a new truck , the posters trying to sabatage the truck saying my motor blew up is a crock of shit…really its under warrenty take to dealer its fixed , 1 % keep these trucks for life … if you can afford it great, enjoy you worked for it, if its a stripped model or loaded good for you , its a truck and we all have a different need or use. Good for all guys………again i may not type perfect or be grammer perfect but i know what im saying …..enjoy everyone i look forward to posting a picture of my new 2024 sport …. If i can dind supersonic red ill be happy …cheers everyone David
