    I am considering buying a 2022 Tacoma.
I previously own a 2002 Tacoma. The frame rusted out and I had to junk my 2002 Tacoma.
Question: will the frame on the 2022 Tacoma rust or has Toyota fixed the rust problem?
I live in Minnesota. The state has very salty roads.
    Thanks.

Welcome to TW. Toyota is already treating the 3rd Gen frames, so yes, it will most likely rust. Treat it with Fluid Film or something similar. My 2014 is just now showing some surface rust on the frame so I’ll start treating with Fluid Film this fall.

Anything will rot under the winter conditions. I currently fluid film my vehicles in the spring and again come fall with great results.

IS there value in Fluid Film / Krown before rust Starts - like when new? Need to be done regularly for sure once doing. Getting a New Tacoma in November just when winter will be setting in - should I do before it gets salt on it (if I am able).

Yup, they are treated better now, but you'll still get surface rust.

The closer to the great lakes the worse it gets, I would likely do a frame treatment like fluid film annually.

Yes absolutely. The least amount of rust the best for starting to treat. If you treat when new and religiously treat it it should never rust out. It is also very good at slowing existing rust and preventing new.
