Oh firewood pictures I can contribute to! Here we do “ricks” of wood. Not an actual measurement as far as I know. Here’s 2 in a utility trailer that my truck did not enjoy pulling, but did it.

What was the issue towing it? Doesn't look like much weight?

    A bunch of shit...
Its a balancing act, and lots of netting. Thankfully its only a few miles each time on nice city streets, so I just limp home and unload. Even with an upgraded suspension, I sit pretty damn low. Definitely wouldn't want to take it on the highway.

If you are hucking 25-lb green logs sideways into the bed from 10 feet away, yes, you can ding the composite bed, I mean hit it hard enough that chips get ejected from the plastic. It's pretty tough but not as tough as a steel bed.

Def. get a rubberized bed liner for the floor. If you are a violent wood-chucker, definitely add additional rubberized padding on the side walls as well.

No problem throwing some wood onto the bed mat and hauling a few times a year.

I’m just used to more powerful half ton trucks. Having to shift to 3rd to get up some hills. It was probably 3,000-3,500 lbs including trailer. I knew going in the Tacoma isn’t a beast for towing but figured it could handle it decently.

I guess I'm just used to under-powered trucks, lol. Re-gear was a huge help though!

Good luck sliding the wood out with that rubber bed mat. You’ll have to lift or roll it with :muscleflexing:

No issues. I have a woodlot and move wood a truck load at a time. Oak and elm. Some of it pretty green.

It never crossed my mind that tossing wood could be an issue.

I have a bed mat. I must have good luck because it's not that hard. It's not Velcro.

Easy to clean all the bark and chips out after as well.

You must be moving light pieces, I usually cut whole rounds - some 18” diameter and more at double length. I roll those up a ramp and slide them into place in the bed to save time in the forest and finish cutting it at home.

One thing for sure is the bed takes it well!

I do 8-10 cords in my truck a year, birch, alder and fur. The bed is fine, just constantly full of saw dust but hey it's a truck. I dont chuck rounds from very far though, and usually I just load to slightly above the box.

There are trees around where you live? And SoCal even allows you to harvest your own wood? Whoa! Mind blown
