I *MAY* be able to score a TRD locking rear axle for a good price, and do not want to re-gear. So I want to make sure my stock 4.56 gears will fit into the 8" housing with the e-locker. I thought I heard somewhere that the 4.56 was too big but i have no clue, which is why i am asking.

    Thanks!

I'm pretty sure they won't fit. The TRD axles are the 'old school' 8" housings, not the newer so-called 8.4 housings. You'll have to get new gears.

    No.

TRD axles have a 8" ring

Open Toyota axles have the 8.4" ring

    Won't fit.
