I have a friend selling some Rims, 16x8 with 4.5" BS. I want to run 285/75-16 BFG All Terrains on a stock Prerunner. Will this work for me? I do NOT want to change the UCA's as they are pricey..

My Friend has them currently on the older Style Taco 4x4.

285's will not work with no lift. The wheels will fit though. just put 265's on them and yu'll be good to go

What about 5100's on the front, and blocks on the back. Will the 285's work? I think I can fit the 265/75/16 BFG with the factory rim, I only want to buy the "used" rims if I can make the bigger tire fit. If I would require a 3" lift, that's ok.. 3" lift and cutting or new control arms.. NO.

    thanks!

well it starts going into shades of grey. 3" lift and the wheels will allow your 285's to fit but there maybe a little rubbing on the mud flaps. So take off the mudflaps and do some minor trimming (Longbow has good pics of the trimming) and you got your set-up. The UCA's are not a must but I would recommend them with the lift. I went 25000 miles with stock control arms with everything being ok, the alignment wasnt perfect (wheels were like this \...../ slightly) and it wondered a little but it will work.

Edit: oh fyi, If your hauling your camper trailer thats in your pic alot the lift and 285's will hurt your gas mileage but you'll look good doing it:D

Hmm towing is job #1.. maybe I should stick with the stock rims, and 265/75-16... Until I can spend the money to do it right. Thanks!
