FX retros, Blazer fog-light retro, JVC KW-NT30HD head unit, Pioneer 6X9's in front doors, Pioneer 6.5's in rear doors, two Pioneer 12" subs in sealed boxes, Sony X-Plod amp, Hidden Hitch trailer hitch, EGR window visors, two PIAA low-tone horns, Westin light bar with two 100-watt KC low profile driving lights.
I have installed both the stick-on as well as the in-channel on various vehicles over the years. I will NEVER use the stick-on ones again. The in-channel type will work great after they have been installed for a while, especially after sitting in the hot sun for a few days...

I prefer the external window deflectors.
Mine are 13 years old... holding up great.
Been tested by time and trail abuse

I had the insert window deflectors years ago (yeah they've been around)
on some of my other vehicles.

I found that most of the time...
those style of deflectors left wear scratches in the window glass.
    Not really noticeable when closed...
but fairly obvious when open partially.

I can easily clean up some residual goop from old sticky tape...
but have a hell of a time buffing out mars to the window glass.

good luck in whichever choice you make.
