That actually looks pretty sweet to me, but I get you. I'm not a fan of the 18" rims myself, but there's no way the new tire/wheel combo is going to rub as it currently sits. What is the tire size you are currently running?

    Looks good…drives like garbage.
Form follows function in my mind …and this function’s horribly. Soo retarded.

275/70/R18 Grabbers with way too much pre load on the front spring. Garbage!

Yeah, by the looks of it I would have guessed you were running 33s and that's what those are. The ones you're wanting to switch to are 31.6. If you're not rubbing now, you won't be after you switch and you should definitely be okay with taking some of the lift out of the current setup.

2inch blocks in the rear I plan on throwing in the trash. Hope is to lower the front to 1”-1.5” lift. Can it be done…

That was going to be my next question: how was the rear lift achieved? Yeah, ditch the blocks.

It can be done. You're essentially taking it almost back to stock, which is going to ride much better.

this is what I want to hear!!

Forgot to mention, it’s recently had new CV axles install as well for the current build. Will there be a need to replace?

@Hogsnatcher, I had a similar set up on a 2014 TRD Off Road. When I bought it, it was lifted with spacers in the front and blocks in the back with a differential drop . The wheels were 18X9s but I cant remember the tire size. I removed the lift and went with Bilstein 5100s all around and then put on 17 inch 4Runner TRD Premium wheels with 265/70/17 Coopers. I set the Bilsteins up front to the #2 setting which was about a 1/2 inch lift. It rode way better and I never had any problems with rubbing.

No, I wouldn't think so. The rear shocks are likely long travel to accommodate the 2" blocks, so you may have to replace them with standard travel ones.

you’ve just calmed my nerves and soothed my mental my friend. Thank you so much for replying. What you did is essentially what I am planning to do and am hoping for an outcome not unlike what you’ve arrived at. Superb.

I really am hoping I didn’t just buy a money pit.
I was told the new CV axels are extreme travel..??

note: if I sound ignorant it’s because I am. I’m a first time owner and am a simple man living simply (so that others can simply live). Now..where are my $1200 fly rods and fancy Drift boat ! , LOL.

To run those 33s you are rocking a 3" lift in the front and 2" in the rear. Get your new wheels/tires mounted, pull the blocks, drop the front by 2", throw on some std travel 5100s on the rear and get an alignment done. That should be all there is to it. Your CVs are fine.

Hey if you need or want more info on what I did feel free to PM me. One thing you need to remember about Tacomaworld is that there is alot of good reliable information, but there is also an equal amount for wrong information.
