2001Tacoma.jpg 285/75/16's on stock Tundra steel wheels (same 4.5" backspacing as Tacoma steelies)
Front:Bilstein 5100 on top setting with stock coil springs no spacers
Rear: Stock Tacoma leafs with overload spring removed, 88-98 Chevy truck rear leafs cut down and slid into the Tacoma spring pack.
    Spidertrax spacers, pinch weld hammered.

Been running this setup for nearly 5 years, with no problems. It rubs only when I'm offroad, but I dont care.

The only negative to the 285's over 265's is the mileage drop. Atleast for my 4cyl it was a significant decrease.

    OP,
Before my SAC, I ran 285’s with OEM wheels but added a 1/2” spacer. I ran this for years with the ‘spare’ steelies and kept the pinchweld in tact.
I suggest going with an aftermarket UCA to help with the upper spindle joint.

    I hope this helps you.
