Just my opinion. Just think legalizing weed isn't the best idea. He came off kinda high and mighty no pun intended

What is the age where you are old enough to have an opinion about a plant?

He's old enough to join the military, He's old enough to have his opinion on pot. Plain and simple.

I'm old enough to vote and go to war to fight for the country you live in if I so choose so don't get pissy about me posting an opinion about something you happen to disagree with. And if you seem to think that just because I'm not twenty one I don't know the effects alcohol has on society then you're wrong. Its obvious what alcohol has done. Doesn't take a rocket scientist to see it. And I understand what tigerfan said in the 420 post about kids being killed over marijuana...but how many people do you see killed in association with alcohol?? I'm guessing more but please correct me if I'm wrong.

Like I said just my opinion. I have 2 kids and if some junkie hits them because they were jacked up there would be hell to pay. Plus this thread needs to get a little debate going on.:stirthepot:

Like I said. Nothing personal. Its just my opinion too. Just like you have the right to yours. I have 2 daughters and I dont want some junkie running them over while they are riding their bikes. More people get in trouble with booze because its legal. Some people are more carefull with pot because its not. Just wait tell its legal, like you said it probably will be. People will start endagering other while under the influence.

Honestly, what are the chances that the person was high vs drunk?? More people are killed due to driving under the influence then by people high on marijuana... I just wrote a research paper on it.

I understand what you're saying. I think those numbers will rise though. Just wait tell its legal . By the way, I think if you are old enough to vote, fight in a war, smoke cigs, then you should be legal to drink.

Extremely good point I have never thought about it like this. I know nobody who has had problems from being high, but the problems with the law is what they face.

Oh man that's a whole other topic ha. You can put your life on the line for the country but can't pop a beer when you get back?? Doesn't make sense. But not to de-rail this thread....Marijuana makes people relaxed, and that to me means less likely to drive. Who wants to have to get up and go somewhere when you're relaxed hanging out?? but I get that it will be a problem to some degree. but not as drastic as the problems already caused by alcohol

No your right. Drinking is just as bad. Pot also has been (for some people) a gateway drug. All it takes is 1% to ruin someones life. I was 18 once so I see what your saying. All in all its not safe. Thats what I was getting at. Good point though. My brother was hit by a drunk driver so Im a little more sensitive to the subject. (Luckly he lived)

My cousin died last year from a hit and run driver who was so drunk he couldn't remember driving home let alone hitting anyone, So that's why I get touchy about the weed is worse then alcohol thing. I've seen what alcohol does and causes, and I understand marijuana has risks too. but I just don't feel that it is fair to let alcohol be legal when it causes obvious problems in the world...but fight so hard to keep marijuana illegal when it has far fewer negative effects. Sorry to hear about your brother, glad he's ok.

I believe marijuana is better than alcohol. It would be a good thing if California passed the law and got out of debt.

Thank you. Sorry to hear about your cousin. Any kinda drug (including booze) is dangerous without being responsible. Most people arent when on these items. Its a double edge sword. Now the state wants to make money off of it.
