Will this cause damage to the tailgate - buckling ?

    I understand, that’s why I rachet strapped the wood super secure. 6 foot beds are awesome. I also transported a 12 foot extending ladder the same way.

    Those seats in your canoe, I've been looking for something like that. Did you buy and install or did they come with your canoe?

    Light load compared to some others I’ve had back there. But I think you get my point. Couple kayaks should not pose a problem.

    Try Craigslist/ Ebay/ Offerup...unless you have to have something new. We scored our Mad River canoe on offerup for $250 - it's an $800 boat. We also scored a nice off-brand kayak for about $200. Both showed some wear when we got them, but were in really good shape.

    They come with that canoe...if you have an Old Town - they sell them on their site. They are very comfortable actually - as they adjust (back).

    Bike is a V-twin so it's not light, 430lbs. The tailgate hold up fine.
