I added a switch in my 2008 Sport, and had to do some trimming inside the recess where the switch sides in. From what I remember, each of the switch locations in the dash is made to hold a specific Toyota OEM switch, and they all have different profiles on the side of the switch. The size of the hole in the dash worked just fine, so nothing visable need to be modified. I used a Dremel with a trim bit to cut away the parts that interferred with the switch that I was installing. It's not been there for over 10 years and it's never come loose.

Do you have pictures of the switch and the trimming you had to do? Did the switch come from OTRATTW?

No, sorry. That was all a very long time ago. I don't recall where the switch came from.
