Will this void my warranty?

I wouldn't drill holes whatsoever!, double sided tape or just keep your phone in your pocket. Doesn't most shit on your phone come up on your stereo?

 

With a 2020 you are very fortunate to have both CarPlay and Android Auto. Have you tried using that with the built in screen before you consider a phone mount?

 

Yes, in fact you will have to turn in your truck and buy a Ridgeline. It’s in the fine print if you read your contract.

I bought the track right from ram mounts for like $20. No vibrations

 

They mount the same to the same spot with the one you are looking at, the difference is the Taco Garage one is low profile meaning less forces. The TG is also nice because if you remove the Ram ball, you would never know it was there instead of having a massive rail running across your dashboard.

 

The bummer is that the phone has to be plugged in for the Apple car play to work. I mean, Bluetooth and all still works correctly so music can still play even if the phone isn’t plugged in. And thanks dude!

Yeah That’s true! But on the 2020s, for h to get the most capability out of the Apple car play, you have to plug it in. Like you can run maps, Spotify, and whatever through the cars interface when the phone is plugged in

Ridge line? No way Jose. It’s funny because I was just reading the fine print yesterday, but the thought of installing something on the car voiding the extended warranty didn’t come to mind. I was thinking more “sweet warranty!”

 

what parts did you use for this? any links? does the mount or the phone vibrate/shake while you are driving?

 

Use double stick Gorilla tape instead.

 

OP, I didn’t see anyone suggest this so I will, why not consider the “un-holey” Mount from Hondo Garage??? Mount to you vent ring, Uber secure and no holes. I have three in my Taco and find zero faults.

Why not use a WeatherTech cup phone holder?

 

I highly recommend the Taco Garage phone mount. I use it with a quad lock head, the phone is solid no movement, even when typing and scrolling on the screen.

Installation was very easy. Simply pull the trim off, drill two holes in the plastic, install the plate, and snap the trim back in place.

 

The Hondo Garage Un-holey vent mount works great, requires no drilling and you can place it either on the left or right driver's vent.

I have this mount and love it. Only thing I didn’t do was tap my 12v plug for it, I ran new wires from an add-a-fuse to avoid any problems.

 

Problem with teh unholey mount is you lose some functionality of your vents. Problem with the Weather tech cup holder is, at least in my truck, cup holders come at a premium and it's good for a single device (with the Taco Garage I can have a phone holder, tablet, radio mic holder, etc and all at the same time if I so desire too).
