I use these types of vinyl for making die-cut stickers. It should work but you will probably have a hard time keeping it flat during application. You may end up with some creasing. If you also buy contact paper it will help with the application.

The contact paper sticks to the side of the vinyl that will be exposed when you have finished putting it on. The contact paper will give the vinyl some rigididy when you peel the back off of the vinyl exposing the sticky side. The contact paper will help keep the vinyl from creasing as you apply to your bumper. After you get it on your bumper the contact paper will peel off leaving just the vinyl on your bumper.

not at all trying to to say buy from me.....but cheap usually means thin in the vinyl world.

thin means tears easily and without much "give" or conformity....meant for flatter surfaces.

if you have a local sign shop, you can prob find the 3M stuff i use

Sockmonkey makes a valid point. I have had similar findings.

I agree with Sockmonkey as well. If you go cheap you will end up screwing up and buying more and it will likely not look as good. It is hard to put on you have to take your time. I had mine done by my friend who is a pro at vinyl wrap. He was using a blow torch to heat the vinyl and lay it on my fenders and bumper. I saw him do it and there is no way I could have done it. Getting quality stuff from Sockmonkey will help the process so the vinyl does not rip.

I called around to some sign shops, and one said that they sell the stuff. They also had a "premium" vinyl that will do better outdoors.

Now what dimensions should I get?

    48 x 12?

Just get a measurement from the bumper and leave a little extra. Premium stuff is what I have. I have been through the bushes and Mud and it has stayed on like the day it was installed.

    Hey that's my truck!

I got some uncut vinyl in gloss black from edecals.com.

I talked to Greg (sockmonkey) before applying and he said that the flat or matte black is a lot harder to work with. Doesn't stretch as easily.
