I wish Toyota still had little vanilla trucks.

    sure. I don't need 4WD anymore.

I sure would miss the tighter turning radius though.

I said 'little', not 'new mid-size'.

Really though, there's no reason they couldn't have made a 5 lug 4WD.

edit: prob. would have made a better AWD

    edit 2: A small Ridgeline with a frame....laughs

It's coming...whether you like it or not, the electric motor revolution is happening and the era of the combustible engine is waning. There is nothing better to my ears than a V8 rumble but you can't argue with the efficiency and torque of electric. The Rivian reportedly will have around 800 lb/ft for torque, payload rating of 800 kg, towing capacity of 5000 kg and accelerate 0-60 in 3 seconds. Hard to compete against those numbers. Imagine, as a Prius sibling passes you effortlessly like a fart in the wind.. pulling a 10,000 lb camper up a steep hill. Doesn't seem right.

They can do it right now as long as I can recharge in 5 minutes or buy a 1/16 charge if I'm broke.

Gas and diesel are a dying idea.....for sure it will take time, and a bunch if infrastructure, but the death bell is tolling. It will start on the race course and for the wealthy. At some point only poor people will have gas and diesel cars, which may further impoverish then over time, as the scale of refining goes down and gas triples or quadruples in price due to lack of demand. It’s only cheap now because they make lots and lots of it.

Like.....if I could afford a Lamborghini, I’d be selling that noisy clunker tomorrow after I get my ass kicked by some douche in a Tesla SUV.

C’mon.....stick a fork in it and turn it over.....gas is done.
