Guys, I've called 3 dealers with this question and can't get a definitive answer. Have some TRD shocks and coil springs from a 2016 truck that I can pick up. Just wondering if they are a bolt on option for the 2009 Tacoma or if they won't fit? Have gone through pages on the forums and some classifieds in the 3rd generation section seem to say they will fit. Just want to be sure before I jump. Any help appreciated. Thank you

they will bolt up without issue, but do note the 2016 springs will give you ~ an inch of lift over the 2nd gen springs.

^^He is correct the 2016 suspension will fit any 2005-15 truck, and it will give you 1 Inch of lift in the front!

A lot. Check out my build page.
If you need a set (front coilovers, rear shocks and UCAs off a 2016 with only 1400 miles on it) let me know. I have a whole set for sale.

Thanks all. Scott, supposed to pick these up on Friday afternoon. If for any reason it doesn't work out, will give you a shout. I live in Elizabeth. We'll measure before and after and will take some pics. Should be a nice upgrade for the 2009. Thanks again to all who chimed in.

Hey guys - new here, have a similar question. Just picked up an 07 TRD Sport double cab LB, and am wanting to do a couple things. Previous owner put new springs (~3in lift) on the front, and it has recently restored to OME/stock leaf springs (dealer replaced before sale due to recall). So, its got a 3" lift up front, with nothing in the back. Definitely looks like it's leaning back...

It rides pretty poorly, no doubt due to the suspension being mismatched, but also has 285-70-R18 tires and wheels, which according to my mechanic isn't helping...

I'm going to be using it mostly on pavement, with occasional foray's off road to access camping, climbing and fishing spots... 4WD will mostly be used on snow en route to skiing. So I think the stock TRD Sport/OffRoad suspension will be plenty.

I can score take-off OME ('15 or '16) wheels and tires on craigslist for pretty cheap, and I'll swap those out. Anyone see any issue with something like this going on my 07? Here's a pic:

And I can also get ahold of front suspension take-offs. Would a TRD Offroad Bilstein Suspension fit my 07? (Sounds like the answer is yes, will just give it an extra 1"). And a pic of these:

Any issue with having 1" of lift in the front from said suspension, but being factory/no lift on the rear? Am I thinking straight here?

Thanks for the thoughts Taco Gurus!!!

I have a set of 2016's I'll get installed on the truck in about two weeks. Got sidetracked with new wheels. YES they will fit. YES they will give you an inch up front. Only think I've heard that's negative is a possible squeaking sound from the rear under load.

I have a 2007 SR5. Can I reuse my old coils and combine them with the struts from a 2016 TRD?

I wound up not using the set from the 2016. I'll post them up for sale. It's the front and rear TRD OR Suspension with about 5,000 miles on it. I'd do $150 on them.

    3" Procomp lift
Hi guys, I'm new here to the forums so be gentle..it's my first time. lol

I have a 2005 Tacoma DCLB. Currently with a 3" Procomp lift(shocks, struts, coils, aal) with stock tires. I was planning on getting 33's installed but I moved in to a condo and I've already hit the top of the parkade gate with my ladder laid down on my rack.lol I clear the gate without the ladder.

So, I've bought a set of 2016 trd suspension parts and I was going to install it after reading this forum a few weeks back. However, I'm also installing an ARB deluxe bumper and winch. My question is...will the added weight of the ARB and winch be too heavy for the 2016 trd front suspension? I've read that it will give the truck a 1" lift but will that compensate for the weight and sag of said ARB and winch? Thanks
