    Prices never go down.

Look at the airlines as an example. When oil prices surged they added bag fees, increased prices and even when gas crashed and stabilized low they never got rid of bag fees.

And that's why I fly Southwest. No baggage fees. JetBlue is the same.

It was either that or we give them more bail out money... how many times have the airline industry been given bailout money to help stabilize the costs?

Southwest prices aren't very competitive anymore though. I can fly Delta cheaper than Southwest most trips I look at.

It is by design, but the Federal Reserve exists because of an act of congress. And it's Board of Governors work for the government but the FED banks are set up as a private organization. So is it private or government? Kind of both actually.

For this discussion on this site it's private. But, it is a gray area as far as how they are structured.

All stable coins are sorts a joke too, so much market manipulation...no chance for any normal people to get in and not get totally reamed.

Depends what you're looking at. Just picked a random week in January from my local airport to Las Vegas and Southwest was nearly half the price of Delta, plus no assigned seats and no bag fees on top of that.

Not really true. After all, the board of governors is a federal agency, appointed by the President and confirmed by the Senate. The individual banks themselves are pseudo-private. Private-ish. Something like that.

must be where you are flying from. for me out of CVG delta has been cheaper than southwest for my past two trips to vegas specifically, lol. I also only pack a carry-on unless I'm flying with firearms. I generally prefer having assigned seats too. I prefer an aisle seat, so I like knowing I have one and I don't have to fight that line with southwest to be sure I get one.

Must also be when you're looking. Just looked at CVG to Las Vegas for that same week I mentioned above. $79 to Vegas on Southwest and $189 with Delta.

I have never had to fight a line to get the seat I want at Southwest. I check in 24 hours early and usually get in A group or early B group. For me it's a no-brainer. They're just so much more hassle free and the fact that I don't have to worry about paying for my bags on top of that is even better. We used Southwest to fly to Hawaii most recently, as opposed to American in 2019. Southwest was by-far easier. Well, that is until the 2000 cancellations caused a backlog of passengers causing us to miss our flight out of Vegas to come home. But any airline is subject to that from time to time.

Still controlled by a commissioner that is appointed by the president. It can definitely be prodded in a direction by who is picked.

I don’t think things are going to change much because people are still purchasing goods at the inflated prices.

Look what happened during the recession: Companies laid off people and had 1 person doing 3 people’s jobs and didn’t pay them more and when the economy leveled out/recovered they didn’t hire new people to replace the people the fired nor did they give that individual that is now doing the job of three people a raise.

That was a shit show in Vegas! My wife and I got stuck there too, when trying to catch our connecting flight home. I vowed never again on Southwest after having them hold our luggage hostage, the lies, and sleeping in an airport overnight, freezing our asses off. I felt sorry for all the families with little ones sleeping on floors everywhere! Not really what we all signed up for.

this is why i wont fly frontier or allegiant anymore. they don't have spare aircraft to ensure a flight will happen if unexpected maintenance comes up. My cousin took his kids to myrtle beach for vacation and was a day and a half late for the 4 day trip because they had to cancel the initial flight and then delayed it the next day.

I am hoping the people loaded with cash and willing to pay any market adjustment dealers demand starts to run dry. Record number of people are quitting their jobs. No one seems to be working anymore yet people are flush with all kinds of cash. Cost of living is through the roof. Dealers have their noses up in the air. Can’t wait for that to change.
