I tend to agree with others and I'm perfectly happy with my current 2nd generation Taco. Especially now that it's paid for so I have no desire to run out and grab another payment regardless what they change on the new edition. That being said, I'm still interested to see what if any improvements there will be for the 3rd generation. I love to see them up the HP/Torque and gain MPG at the same rate.

I like the look of my second generation. I'd have to see the 3rd gen first.

Just a bunch of old crap
I'm pretty damn happy with my 2nd gen and it would take some significantly cool changes and a reasonable price for me to want to make a change. I'm open to anything Toyota wants to throw out there though.

The frame not being fully boxed doesn't affect my life in any way... maybe it does for others somehow. Rust? I live out west, shouldn't be a problem.

You may be correct regarding the rear diff problem, but I've yet to see it posted once (of course, i'm not saying i read every post, etc. so i'm just saying I haven't seen it), and I just searched the forums with multiple searches and didn't find anything... I've seen lots of the other problems that are common mentioned, even the rust issue and boxed frame (not really a problem, just a comparison to Nissan's, etc.)...

I love the new 4runner, driven it on street and offroad. Only complaint would be that the front springs are a bit soft, it tends to dive when braking hard.

I heard 2012, but in any case I plan on paying off my 2010 and keeping it until it dies. Once it's paid off (or close to it) I'm buying another wrx sti.

I plan on modding my truck to the point that I won't want to get rid of it. Only if I pay off my 2nd gen and use it for offroad only will I buy a 3rd gen.

Foglights are for fog, not oncoming traffic!
Toyota has to prove to me they're going to engineer the new one a lot better than the gen2.
Even then, their arrogance over fixing basic flaws has me thinking never again.
    I'm not a koolaid drinker.

Yeah you are, you just prefer the "Toyota didn't engineer the second gens well" flavor. Still Koolaid. Personally, I love Koolaid. And I'm not even black.

I think this has been a great marketing study poll for Toyota...ARE YOU LISTENING TOYOTA??? Customers want quality but value as well! Sure the Tacoma is light years better than a Ranger or dakota, but so is the cost premium. And I dont think its too much to ask to include the little things like a locking glove box, heated mirrors, Sat-Radio, etc... features that are included in many other trucks of the same cost. This pole proves that even the Toyota faithful will stray if the needs and value are not adressed with the new model.

...We are not the Toyota faithful.

Your grandmother who just bought a new Avalon is the Toyota faithful. The fact that Toyota sales have been growing all year signals that there is no problem with their current strategy.

You're asking if We'd buy a truck with no knowledge of anything about it?

Shoot, I don't even have 100K on my 2001. That's considered new, right?

I'd buy a new Tacoma if they put a turbo diesel in it that could get 30 mpg & 300 ft lbs.

Id say we are all pretty faithful considering we blog on a Toyota Tacoma forum.
