With all the common problems on the 2nd generation tacoma, will you continue to buy from Toyota? Do you think their quality standards are slipping?

I've only had mine a month, but if it lasts with minimal issues, or if Toyota takes care of me the same way that I've been reading about on here (for the most part), then hell yeah.

For now, I voted I'll think about it. I'm hoping for the best, but I won't blindly say 'yes' this early in the game.

This is a good question, and Im not sure mine is a older 22RE HiLux and one of the great running models, was thinking of a PreRunner to save some cash and I also need a relitively economical truck maybe 4 Banger it'll be a daily driver plus commuter all around type, not sure of the newer versions qaulity anymore reading alot of bad posts that bother me about the reliability, but what else is on the market that is better,Nissan Frontier? or a car like an Acura or something but I always was a truck guy.

I have always been a toyota guy but sometimes you have to take the Toyota blinders off and say WTF.....Weak tailgate, Weak springs. This is a TRUCK not A minivan, what the hell was toyota thinking? i will consider something else if the 3rd generation is not improved in key area's.Im not a FORD guy but, FORD is supposed to come out with the new F100 next year and it will be their first midsize truck to directly compete with the tacoma. This may or may not change the game .

Every vehicles have their issues. Every issue I had with my dodge had scores of hits from various forums. It wasn't uncommon to enter in a problem and start reading, yes I have that problem too, same here, anyone know how to fix......, I brought to the dealer and they never heard of that.
I think tacomas are over priced by as much as 20%. I could get intona tundra for a few thousand more. But a full size truck is too much.
I love watching full size pick ups pulling into parking places.
Toyota needs to include a few more features and options.

If there is more options by 2015 or so after I have my life going and have a good job I would probably buy a new tacoma as long as they dont try to keep up anymore with the full sized trucks, I think where the second gens are now is perfect, I would just like a few more option possiblities.

If I did it would be 2 to 3 years after the next model change. I'm hoping with all the bad press their getting right now they'll turn the company around and put the quality back in place like it once was. Hopefully they come back out with a small truck again like the first generations.

I'm on my 3rd Toyota pickup. I purchased my 09 Tacoma Access cab 4wd TRD based on the excellent quality of my previous Tacomas and excellent service at my dealers. I have never been more disappointed in both than with my '09. The overall quality has completely gone in the tank. There is no sound deadening anywhere that I can find, The bed is plastic and, worse of all, the clutch pedal is plastic. These are just the obvious things. There is excessive road noise in the cab and there is nothing that the dealer can do about it (At least that what they say). I have had experience with uncaring service people and, generally, unsatisfactory responses from Toyota Corporate headquarters.

With all that said, I have been loyal to Toyota because of past experiences however, unless Toyota makes some major changes in both quality and customer service, I'm sorry to say that my next truck will be something other than Tacoma.

    Norm.

i am hearing us say, a decrease in quality? can we have some input on the area that they have 'less quality' if you will for the lack of better words?

I hope this one holds up as well the other 2 Small Toy Trucks I have own and Better than the Tundra (which was really good).... But I don't understand why Toyota would try to make the Taco into a Parking lot Queen.. If we wanted a wuss mobile we would have bought a Minivan or a Ford.. :stirthepot:

Same Here but I have had mine for a year:mudding:

I would definitely buy another Tacoma. They look so much better than anyother midsize pickup on the road. The only reason I would ever not buy another Tacoma would be if I needed to go to a fullsize 3/4 or 1 ton truck for more towing and payload.
