The dealer who fixed it told me it needed a cam and timing chain, which he couldn't include even though he was sure it was done by the head and that GM would take care of it. GM said no way the dealer could have done it. Dealer then said he'd replaced a lot of the heads over the years and never had to do anything more..the same man told me 2 months prior he'd never seen one go and that's why he "didn't know" about this.

Really? You mean for asking for it? And then paying it back with interest? If you take out a mortgage in the next few years good luck finding a place that wasn't in the same boat.

You know your product sucks when the people who own it are wondering what the first problem will be.

By the time I replace my 2014 the GM will have a track record so I will at the very least consider it.

I too would like an option other than "Not anything but a Toyota".

Of course I'll look at anything available. The odds of it beating out the Taco are slim-to-none, but I'll certainly give it an honest shot.

Maybe by then it will have some good suspension and armor mods available, too. To this date I haven't seen pictures of a 4WD-compatible LT kit for the current-gen Colorado.

No, I was always a diehard Chevy truck fan until my 2005 Colorado. That truck had lots of issues and lack of support from GM, when the ECM crapped out at 80k and left me stranded I traded it in the following week on my Tacoma. Now I like my Tacoma but these trucks are not issue free. I read these threads and it seems like everyone thinks these trucks are bulletproof they have issues to, frame rust and a driveline that Toyota couldn't get right at the factory to name a few.

UAW got 50c on the $ , gm got 40c on the $ .suppliers & investers got 5c each on the $ back. YES we the tax payer also got screwed out of over 10 billion beans that we will never get back..
This from ABC news,,, .In more fallout from the recession and financial crisis, the US government lost $10.5 billion on the General Motors bailout, but it says the alternative would have been far worse. The Treasury Department has sold its final GM shares Monday, recovering $39 billion of the $49.5 billion it spent to save the automaker five years ago. Treasury Secretary Jacob Lew says that without the bailout, the US would have lost more than a million jobs, and the economy could have slipped from recession into a depression. Research by the Michigan-based Center for Automotive Research says the bailout saved 1.2 million jobs. CAN YOU SAY FU(K GM FOREVER... I know I can...:(

None of the poll answers match my feeling.

My answer is "no", but not because I won't buy anything but a Toyota.
You're closer in saying I won't buy a Chevy (or Chrysler).
I might be persuaded to buy another Ford, though my last two experiences, Ford really tried hard to talk me out of buying another one.

Honda, Nissan, Subaru? Got nothing against them.

This poll needs another option." Government Motors can go suck on the straw"
"Don't care about any of their products"

I've always loved the looks of Chevys. I just can't bring myself to buy one. They're all pieces of crap. My wife's family owns nothing buy GMs (dad worked for them for 30 years) and they have a ton of problems. Most are small annoyances, but the stuff they replace at 30,000 miles doesn't go bad on my truck for 60,000. My wife's trailblazer is a complete POS and we take care of it. Once we sell that thing, we'll never own another GM product again.

Help me understand, the number one auto maker in the world for the last century went broke, they got my money and I did not have to buy an auto from them, therefore I will never buy a new auto from them!
