    The Auto Alliance Association wants to make it illegal to work on your own vehicle, specifically the electrical and computer components, as they state it may lead to equipment failure and security issues. They are pushing the Digital Millennium Copyright Act which makes "tinkering" with you vehicle a copyright violation and is currently lobbying congress to enforce the idea.

    Doubtful they'd ever be able to stop people from working on their own cars. Seems like it'd raise all kinds of ethical and legal issues.

    But, if it ever did become law, you can be damn sure that I'd spend the rest of my life driving antiques.

    I was reading about this on FB....I find it hard to see this becoming law. Think about government, city, and state vehicles as well as business vehicles. Everyone modifies vehicles, not just enthusiests...
