This is my first truck and I just love it!!! I have put to much time and money into it to trade it in or sell it. I will most likely keep it until it dies on me. I'll def be looking into getting another Tacoma though down the road!!!:D

True. If everything goes extinct, the only remaining thing on this earth will be Tacomas. :D

I would keep this truck if it was a 4x4, but once Pay it off or come close enough I will buy a new one.

I'd keep my Tacoma forever. I'll even swap/rebuilt motor when it comes to it. I know it may sound ridiculously pricey and unreasonable but Toyota runs in my genes ever since I was little. Rode in a 1980 Cressida station wagon throughout my whole entire childhood life. I'm 21 right now and all I have to say is "Damn, those Toyota's never give up." Sorry to give you guys a short lecture about my life but man! I am thankful for everyone here who owns a Toyota Tacoma and I take pride.

I certainly hope so. Only thing that worries me is the same thing that caused my 1st gen to be bought back... frame rust.

One Day. Just bought it 2 weeks ago with 5773 miles on it. Now have 41000+ miles and going strong.
Most definitely! I average 200,000+ miles & 12+ years on my trucks. I've had an '82 Toyota P/U, a '94 Ranger, & now my '09 Taco. Seeing how I'm 52 next month, I won't have much interest in another vehicle.
I do all my maintenance, except for some of the more sophiticated stuff, which helps alot.

Nearly 6 yrs now, no issues. Paid for, easy to work on, I plan on keeping till wheels fall off.

Love the 05 model. NO e-nannies (VSC, TRAC) buttons to fool with, no TPMS to deal w/ for summer/winter wheelset changeovers.

Like all taco's, just gotta keep the frame protected w/ all the winter salt used up here.

I plan on keeping it for a long time, but voted "no" just because "forever" is too hard to pin down. I drive 35k+ a year, so at my current rate my '09 will have 200k on it before it's 5 or 6 years old. At that point I'll probably buy a nice luxury sedan for my DD and keep the truck for nasty days. Then again if it starts crapping out in 150k miles, I'll probably upgrade to a Tundra or F-150.

EDIT: After reading my post, guess I should have done "Undecided". I'm a retard.

    Hell yes.

Waited a long time for the finances to be right to get exactly the new mdoel I wanted. Bought specificially with the intention to drive it into the ground.

If it lasts 15 years I'll be content, aiming for 20 - 25 years though :)

I love my tacoma, but I originally wanted to get an FJ Cruiser...until I saw their mpg...I will keep my Tacoma till the day it runs dead in the dirt...or Toyota starts putting in diesel engines...then I'll trade up for an FJ Cruiser in diesel...or maybe keep the truck AND get the FJ Cruiser in deisel ^_^

I'll probably trade my Tacoma in about a year. I really want an X-Runner :D

I kept my last truck 14 years, close to 200k
it was mostly in virginia so vehicles last awhile down there.
but once i moved back to buffalo, only took a few winters to take its toll.

now that i got the 09, im sure it will last a good 10 years hopefully
but my 14 year old is already calling dibs on it for his senior year, 3 years from now.
i gave his older brother my subaru for his senior year last year, he had good grades and he was working
And it gave me the excuse to buy me the Tacoma, but now the younger one knows he's due
and he doesnt want mom's mini-van

So no, i wont keep it forever, but it still may be in the family

If the Taco proves to be as reliable and durable as my 4Runner, then hell yeah I'll keep it as long as it runs! But, if the thing starts rusting under there, then I'll get rid of it for sure.
