I have always run my OS on a separate hard drive. It simplifies alot of things for me.

I use Mac and Linux mostly. I don't think I'll ever buy another windows machine for myself.

Absolutely! I'm not saying to not put your os on another hdd or partition, but I believe someone suggested changing out harddrives completely to try out 7. I always run os on another partition to assist with reloads and not disrupting your data.

If your worried about it, you can always run the xp mode on windows 7 while learning the new os. XP mode runs very well.

Very true, mac certainly has it's place. Video and graphic folks love mac and they are great in a home enviroment too!

I pre ordered Win 7 like 3 months ago when we were still in iraq. This OS is much improved over Vista and dont require huge amount of RAM or Processing power to run.

Toyota all weather floor mats. Mag light that clunks around in the jack compartment. Dog hair. Dog drool on the windows.
My concern is the recovery disks I have made of my current OS that came on my pv.
How would I get programs that came bundled in my PC when I bought it off them?

I did the Windows 7 beta for awhile.

First of all, most of the crap that comes pre-installed when buying a complete computer is junk. Sorry to burst your bubble, but it's those bad programs that slow it down and I'm not even sure why people think so highly of McAfee. Secondly, since the W7 Beta kicked more ass than the full version of Vista it's no comparison and I hope they discontinue Vista too. Unless you're computer savvy and want to skip any problems with Windows and prefer Linux that's fine, but so far W7 has my vote.

Will I upgrade? You bet your ass, Vista can go suck it.

I'm getting a new drive for my laptop and installing it fresh. In the event something goes wrong I'll always be able to go back to my current setup, but I expect it to be a huge improvement.

    Vista is teh suck.

I am running Windows 7 beta on my machine at home. It's stable, quick, and the UI is pleasant. I've already ordered my copy of Windows 7 with a student discount.. came out to $30 or $40 (can't remember).

Now, I gotta get work on the bandwagon.

    of course
We have been running Win7 in the shop for a few months. I find it faster and cleaner than XP and Vista. It is very pretty, especially with rotating Jeisa Chiminazzo backround pics.
