They go on and off in about 10 min, will fold all the way against the cab if you need the bed and the sides roll up. My dog will love to ride back there with the sides up, when he’s not surfing on the top of the cab.

I have seen people use one from a f150 to a tundra i believe, but so far I haven’t been able to find Anything that will fit mine except a tacoma.

Thats what I was curious about just based off the comments from the other thread. I was actually just scanning the thread to see if that one sold and didn't see anything. So if you don't mind a used one it may be worth a message.

Haha nah your good. Just ordered mine. Little bit more than that but saves hassle of using wifes facebook to meet weirdos in parking lots for truck parts

Yeah, I sold my bed rack a few weeks ago. I'm sort of in the same boat except I want to find a hard shell.

ETA- I don't consider myself a weirdo.

The top of the soft topper for the 3rd gen was below my brake light and I didn’t like that. But I’d have to see what one for a 2nd gen looks in person too. The flaps in the back also hung down below my tail gate when the back window is rolled up and I didn’t like that either.

I love my softopper. Had one for my tacoma back in the day too. I swear by them.

only downside is since it’s a soft shell, it catches wind, interrupts the designed flow of air over the bed into the cab, and because of that will certainly knock down your gas mileage a couple MPGs. Super duty went from 19.5 to just under 18 on the highway with it on.

Tacoma was the same, but I was rocking the 5sp 2.7 so it was underpowered to begin with lol

Not that it really matters but those side Flaps sit even with the tailgate on the 2nd gen topper. If I can find a good deal on a 3rd gen topper I’ll most likely get it. The differences aren’t really big enough to matter.
