Wilson needs the rear TSB

It won't be rough. Just did this & set 5100s all the way up on 2.5. Rides great.

 

I didn't get the TSB done under warranty and now I am at 40,000 miles. What are my options? I realize I could pay to get the new springs, any idea how much? Is there a better option in the aftermarket world?

The springs are different on the 4cyls right?

 

Folks have received invoices that would have cost $1600 or so parts and labor included if it wasn't covered under warranty.
You can put an AAL into the 3 leaf pack and it'll help...or get a complete replacement leaf pack for way less than the TSB springs.

 

Did you buy it new? If so, you've driven 40K miles and it hasn't been an issue...why now?


It will cost you under $100 to add a leaf to your existing pack.

 

I used to bottom out going over railway track crossings towing my travel trailer with a $190 lb tongue weight. I had the rear spring TSB done, and no problems whatsoever. It doesn't affect the ride when there is no weight in the back, IMO. At least I didn't notice any difference.

I didn't notice any difference either and I was afraid the tsb would make the rear too bouncy or rough.

 

Not that I'm aware of. I used spring from some TRD bilsteins instead of off my base tokicos but not sure they're any different. The TRDs weren't on the truck so I just took the springs off those when 5100s came in mail & put them together. Rear is just the Toytec 1.5 AAL that goes on non TSB leafs or the TSB leafs. Fits either.

 

It probably hasn't been an issue because I have never put that much weight in the bed, I have towed my boat and a trailer with some motorcycles, with now problems. I was just curious what my options were if I ever needed to do something there.

The roads up there are so freaking bad and there's not much they can do about it, what with all the traffic and the weather. I just got in at 1:30am and driving through SC to my house was like night and day compared to the south Jersey roads I was on for the last 9 days.

And it bottomed out 7 times (that I'm 100% sure of) on the 580 mile drive home.
