    Hey Guys,

I just go finished installing a new Warn 12.5 K winch on the truck.

the winch itself fits in the bumper but i can’t get the front supports of the truck back on without relocating the control module. What have you guys done to relocate and where have you placed them?

That’s an interesting setup for sure. My bumper and skids i don’t think would allow that

Yea everyone's setup is different. Just figured id toss up the idea we landed on. Maybe you can mod it and use it, maybe you cant.

Place up the engine bay to keep out of the elements. Extend the winches wires to make it fit where you want.

here’s where I put mine. Been working great for almost 9 years.

Do you have to keep your hood open to use the winch controller or do you have a switch mounted in the cab?

Added square aluminum tube. Moved my box up off the winch, mostly out of splash zone. Didn’t extend supplied wire.

negative. I hardwired a switch into the cab.

But if I get into a spot where I need to use a remote warn has a wireless controller, which of course uses a battery so I do carry the hardwired controller as a backup in which case I’d need to open up the hood.

Thank all of you for the input

i like what I am seeing.

What did you guys use for brackets in these locations, if possible Idk if I want to run to under the hood because it seems like a PITA to do all that when i need to pull myself or someone out, but I’m considering it.

I’m trying to figure out a mount or something for both of these locations and I’m not sure what to use.

I used the little brackets that normally attached it to the winch itself. With this setup I needed about 15 feet of battery cable to run it.

That sure looks like my Badlands winch from Harbor Freight right down to the cooling fins on the motor and the stickers.

I made a mount using where the ABS module bolts down in the fender well. It’s not hard to extend, there are even companies online that would make the cables for you, just give them the gauge, size of connector, length you need. Use a string to estimate new length.
