Winch mount options for stock 2004 Tacoma SR5 4x4

    Starting from stock...
    Recently purchased a straight stock 2004 Tacoma XtraCab 4x4 and am interested front mounted winch options that retain as much as possible of the original front bumper.
    Suggestions???

    I am doing the same thing , My truck is the same year as yours . I plan to cut the piece of plastic bumper right below the bumper in between the turn singles . The reinforcement cross bar is in back of it and I plan to bolt it to that . but I will have to add a 3/4 inch spacer on top of the coils to compensate the weight that the winch will have .

    Some lift, some armor, some scratches..
    That reinforcement bar is no where near strong enough to mount a winch to!! One good pull and the winch will rip off your truck.
