I want a winch, but do not want to change bumpers. I already have a light bar mounted to the frame through the bumper slots, so I don't need the whole grill guard thing... I just want a plate that bolts up through the bumper slots that will support a winch and pulling. I don't want to do the front tow hitch thing either. Any ideas or links?

    Thanks,
    Dan

I saw somebody a while back that had a 2" receiver on the front of their tacoma. I know there are receiver winch mounts, i'll try a little google and see if I can find it.

Edit: heres a thread. However from looking at the pricing you'd probably be better off w/ a new bumper

Had tons on the Taco's.... new truck is pretty stock
If someone I can find someone local for a donor truck I could(and have been wanting to) make a winch mount that fits with the facory bumper. I was thinking one where you'd cut out the lower center part of the plastic, then bolt the mount assembly up. It would act as a tougher skid plate for the center, plus be able to hold a good winch and have the option for 2 recovery shackle points. Might even make it out of aluminum as an option?
