I’m sure glad I joined this forum. You all have been helpful in giving me some ideas. That come along looks very interesting. To be honest there havnt been many times I’ve gotten stuck because I absolutely don’t want to put ruts in farm roads or fields. I guess it’s more of a security thing than anything. I have never owned a good set of mud tires like BF Goodrich or similar I bet those alone r amazing. And I really like the looks of those come alongs

Did you make a decision yet? I have a front receiver with an EVO8 on a cradle. Ran cable to the back of the truck so the winch can work from front or back.

I do not notice any difference when driving with winch installed. Probably 150 pounds (receiver, cradle & EVO)

I have it in now because I just went snowshoeing in the upper peninsula with my daughter. Where we went is a cabin and there is no one around for 10+ miles. And now, back home, supposed to be getting a major snowstorm.

IMO the cradle and receiver setup is the way to go if you are doing things by yourself. It can easily go from the front to the back. The winch is easily stored, washed, and lubed (important because of all the salt MI puts on the road). No worries about beefing up the front end.

Mount a front receiver. Then mount your winch on a 2” post with 24’ of 2awg power cord. Now you can winch front OR back at any time. Can leave the winch stored out of weather (or at home on mall crawls) and use it on any vehicle at any time.

That sounds like the Best setup because you can winch from both ends

I am getting ready to do something with it though. I’m going to be spending some money to get this truck set up the way I want I can see that right now. Toyota installed a set of Brand New Kenda Klevers AT2 on the truck when I bought it and they have worked pretty good in picked corn fields or farm fields but I don’t go in them when is very muddy

Just listen to that inner voice telling you to and deal with what comes of it, my philosophy has always been be over prepared. Better to have it and not need it!FE2FC28D-F059-4973-8F91-566ECFDD917B.jpg

This. If you actually are going to use the winch instead of peacock display, it AND you're going to be alone, you need to be able to pull yourself out from either end. I mounted my winch in the front, only to realize sometimes when I get stuck it's not a matter of winching through the obstacles, but backing myself out and going around them.
