Most of the materials I used were cheap, readily available and lightweight. If you could fab a bracket to mount to the lower shell that would clear the wedge roof as it goes up, seems pretty straightforward

Laxtoy - that's nice. Is that a piece of trim across the leading edge? Are there some kind of bumpers between the leading edge and the roof?

Few different iterations, started with bumpers in the first pic, didn’t last so went to a piece of weatherstripping along the edge in second pic, finally cut the fairing back so it wouldn’t need anything to cushion it.
