So I was opening up my door the other day and HUGE gust of wind came and blew door away from me. It made a weird sound so I knew it was bad. I live in Wyoming. The wind can be brutal here, especially this time of year.
When I closed the door it made a popping sound. I couldn't tell where the popping sound was coming from but after closing it 5 or 6 times the popping sound stopped.
I thought I was in the clear (but in the back of my head I knew I wasn't).When I later went to roll down my window, it only would go down 1/4 of the way before stopping, seemingly due to friction of something preventing it from going down all the way.
Curious if anyone knows what is going on. Going to have to get it fixed regardless but wonder why this happened.

    Thanks in advance!

Oh yeah, BTDT. You have bent the window channel inside the door, its mounting and probably the top door hinge. Take it to your favorite body shop now, 'cause it ain't going to get any better by itself. When the southern Colorado wind got mine, we ended up having to get new parts. That wind bang is violent enough to bend and break stuff beyond repair.
    Sorry to hear that,
    Bob

Just off the wall maybe a wire harness got yanked? Easiest thing to do is pull the door panel and take a look. It's super easy.

This is a speaker install thread but it has detailed step by step on panel removal. Takes like all of 5 min to do.

Same thing happened to me last year. Had to replace top hinge and the door check/limiter. Take off the door panel to see what's interfering with window travel.. probably nothing broken, should be easy to bend stuff out of the way.

I third taking the panel off just to take a look. Should be able to find out what the issue is. Might be able to fix it yourself.

Sounds like the door checker is toasted too. That's usually what makes a popping sound when damaged

Had this happen to me tonight. It is pretty shitty but at least it didn't get a huge dent from the quarter panel. that was my fear.

I had the door checker loose recently because i temporarily grounded something to it for testing. Guess I should take it off and check it out/retighten. I will pull off the door panel too and look at the window track and see if I can see anything. Hope my hinge isn't messed up.

There was a little resistance at first but no pop. My window goes down a little over half way before it starts to get stuck. Can't afford to force it and get it off the track in this weather.
