When driving over 40mph, I've noticed an air noise coming in from the drivers side window. The window is up, and everything is on tight, but I hear it without fail. I've read that other Toyota's have had similar reports.
Has anyone else heard something similar or have a fix?

It’s more than likely the mirror u are hearing or the door seal .

I have a 2015 Tacoma. I found at highway speeds (and typically only when there was a crosswind) my rider's side window or door frame made this loud whistling sound. It took me forever, but I finally figured out that it was the door frame, and was able to fix it. I bought a roll of foam (with a sticky side) from Home Depot and ran it inside the door frame between the door and body.

Is the top of the door flush with the top of the rear door? Possibly need to tweak the top section of the door in further to tighten against the gasket

yes. Everything is aligned. This is a super common problem I have read on this community. I finally figured out how to stop it and so I wanted to post my solution here.

Did you by any chance remove the air dam from your truck? If so, that could be the source of the wind noise. There is another thread on this forum about this issue with the solution. If you didn't remove the air dam, please disregard my message.

I haven're removed the air dam yet. I plan on it, but haven't done it yet, so I can rule that out.

I didn't notice the wind noise before I took the air dam off, it may be the problem. I have the same issue, it's annoying.

If the noise happened after the air dam was removed, then the noise is probably caused by (4) 3/4" holes on the bottom of each lower control arm. Apparently, these will whistle/howl at speed. This was addressed by Toyota on models that do not have an air dam (Off Road, Pro, TH) by inserting plugs into those holes.

If you slide under there (easy to do now that the air dam is gone), you can see the holes and just cover them with tape for now - just to prove that is the cause. Once you are certain that this is the issue, you can buy the plugs from Toyota, or just get these cheap silicone plugs from Amazon...

    Just getting started :)
Glad I found this thread. I had the same problem, but initially I thought it was my new side steps (running boards) since they have holes in the steps. So I taped everything on those side steps that I thought would make noise yet is still persisted. It then dawned on me that when I installed the side steps I also removed my air dam. And I had read on another Tacoma forum about holes in the LCA so I took a look. I thought it was the small hole at the front of the LCA, but after taping that off the howling still persisted. So I kinda gave up but then came back and did a google search and came across this thread. @JC 4th Gen gave the key: “… holes on the bottom of the lower control arm…”. I got up under the truck again, saw the holes, taped them over, and voila… no more howling. THANK YOU!!!!
