that is double sided stickey tape.

you just need some standard electrical tape.

Completely incorrect. You want the best double sided foam tape you can get. If you waste your time trying to double up electrical tape somehow, it's not going to create an airtight seal, and it almost surely won't hold long term. You want the same thing your badges are mounted with to fix this issue permanently.

how do you plan on opening the door if you use double sided stickey tape?

Why are you questioning the method I used in the thread I started about an issue I had that I fixed? I'm sorry if you're lost. Please don't confuse others.

Thanks a lot for responding OP. This is a bad pic due to it being dark, but was hoping you could confirm this is where you taped the seal to the door before I went taping up my truck?

    Thanks again.

I put the tape on the door itself, the inside skin, not the outside, but it's important that you diagnose where your leak is coming from, then seal that area. Find a road with little traffic, get up to speed, then press on the gasket until the sound stops. That's the place you need to seal up.

Sorry just having hard time figuring out spot you're referring to. For me, it does not stop the noise by me pushing on the seal. I have been trying that while driving for a few days.

I still believe its the issue you're talking about because it sounds exactly like wind is just able to "wush" under a seal. If you get a chance and can take a picture of where you taped it, I'd really appreciate it.

I haven't tried this on my Tacoma yet because I don't really have a lot of wind noise, but I have done the mod described in the attached video to several other vehicles and have been very happy with the results. I'm sure something similar could be preformed on our trucks.

So I finally fixed it. I have tried it many ways, but basically the difference between mine and @Polymerhead 's method is that a.) I used 3M door gasket adhesive and b.) It wasn't enough to attach it in just the upper corner. I glued in the ENTIRE top edge of the gasket to the door, only then it got quiet. I tied using the tape first, it did not work for me.

This was to fix the issue of wind noise coming throgu the seal? Like where it sounds as if the seal isn't making a good connection and air is wushing through?

If you can please post description of what you used and where or even a picture that would be awesome. I'm asking the dealer to look at it at my 5000 mile oil change coming up, but if they don't fix it I will be attempting something like this.

It's the top of the window gasket - not the door gasket. I followed directions on page 2 of this thread and was able to eliminate wind noise right away. What remained is an annoying squeaky sound, gasket rubbing against the door. I tried clear silicone, it didn't bind well and squeak was bad. Removed the silicone, replaced with 3M gasket adhesive, still squeaked. It took me a while to figure out that I needed to glue the entire top edge of gasket to the door. As soon as I applied the adhesive I used a bunch of masking tape on the inside of the door to keep the gasket pressed against the metal and let it set overnight. No more noise. I'll try to get pics.

Really appreciate the additional details. As you know this is such a frustrating thing to be dealing with on a new vehicle, so it's good to know there are solutions working for others if the dealer can't do anything.

Is the spot at the top of the door that you applied the adhesive to?

Sorry, it's hard to tell what I see here. Is this "upside down" view?

yea sorry about that. This is the birds eye view of the door with the door open.

So my finger is in the seal at the top of the door.

Mine was leaking through the TOP of the window gasket. Your picture seems to show the bottom of the window.

The gasket that the window glass slides into? Or the one that seals window/door to the cab?

My problem is I can't get the noise to stop by putting pressure anywhere inside the cab while driving. So I'm having hard time pinpointing where I should do this and don't want to put a bunch of mounting tape in the wrong areas.

Yes, that one. It needs to be permanently attached to the door, preferably to the inside edge of the door.
