Mine has the same issue with the drivers side. It is at the dealership today and they replacing the weatherstrip around the door. Sure hope it fixes it because it is driving me crazy. Truck only has 6,000 miles on it. I will post the results later.

Can someone post pics of their fix please. Explaining seem to confuse people more. The 3m tape seem to work for some but not all. Please add some pictures. Thanks

Ok. So I tried a few different things and had mixed success. What worked for me was the 3M black weatherstrip adhesive. Double-sided tape did not, possible because like many of you, I wasn't clear on its use. I did the top of the window with 3M and it eliminated the whistle, but later I developed a squeak on the side portion of the gasket where rubber rubbed against metal every time truck hit a bump. These are not the smoothest riding vehicles. So today I applied it to the side part, which makes the gasket pretty much glued to the door all the way around. This is the adhesive I used:

    20151224_134857_aaaf3bedbd35fb542b94d788efd8243dd610019b.jpg

This is the gasket that you are working on. You can do it from the inside or repeat the procedure on the outside if you want extra seal:

Peel back the gasket (it's not attached) and applied adhesive. In my case, it was needed all the way around and previously I only did the top half - so I finished the job today:

Roll up the window as soon as you apply adhesive. Put some tape, or something better to hold it down while it cures. It's 70 degrees in NJ today so it shouldn't take long.

    20151224_135345_65a12defcaaffe6cda93c84fd36fe941c8b7658f.jpg

You can do the outside too, if you want.

    Hope this helps.

Thanks a lot... I was looking at a totally different seal. So you were having wind noise like OP where it sounds like you're in a crosswind or the window is down a bit at highway speeds and this improved that? It feels like air builds up and grabs at the door and pulls for me.

    Ordering that 3m adhesive now!

Yes, the tiny whistle like a slightly opened window... If I pressed down on it with the finger, it would stop. I

Post deleted as referenced post has been edited to correct issue. Super Kudos to va_bank for updating his helpful illustrations!

(Summary of deleted post - "Goo Gone" is a safe adhesive remover to use around automotive paint. DO NOT use the similarly named product "Goof Off" which is acetone based and can damage your paint).

Ok, I guess I won't recommend it. I used it on mine (rubbed it lightly with microcloth) and it didn't do anything to the clear coat, but removed the adhesive residue.

Sounds like you did it quickly and carefully - glad nothing was harmed! But it is a common mistake - especially people debadging their trucks - to use Goof Off and end up with ruined paint. Since you were just removing a little left over tape adhesive you probably were able to get it off quickly with a minimum of liquid used so it was OK. The guys trying to get badge glue off end up using more for longer and end up with bad damage.

Oh, and BTW, thanks for the very nice illustrated write up. Very helpful!

@va_bank did you end up applying it to the rest of that gasket and did it reduce any more noise?

I just got my tube of 3m black adhesive from Amazon today and will be applying to that area tomorrow. After you pointed out that gasket I started pressing on it while driving and saw I cut down on the noise of wind coming through by pressing on it near the triangle trim for the side mirror. I'm going to hit the whole gasket and possible other seals tomorrow and will update.

    Thanks again va_bank and OP

Same issue on 2015 DCSB bought in June of last year. Wind noise at the door seal in the upper middle to upper left area. Mine whistles at 80mph and the dealer claims they cannot do a ride along at that speed and they can't fix something that they haven't identified. Although they know it's an issue and they're waiting for Toyota to figure something out. They told me that they tried to adjust the door on another truck to pull the door in tighter when closed but it did not pull in the upper portion enough to fix the problem.

Just to be clear, it's likely to be the window seal, not door seal. Press down on the gasket in different spots as you are driving to see if you hear any changes in sound. Mine's holding up well so far.

I've been trying to think of an adhesive to try for this fix, since I'm not yet sold on the idea of using the 3M weather stripping stuff.

    Found this great chart: https://d-lab.mit.edu/sites/default/files/D-Lab_Learn-It_Adhesives.pdf

Which would mean that a PVA based glue would be non reactive to both the paint/metal and the rubber. So um, yeah, standard white Elmer's glue should technically work, at least temporarily enough until one can decide to go all out with the solvent based stuff. It also gives you the option of taking off the weather stripping later if you need to do some odd repair that requires it.
