so what is the final date we are doing this I know there has been a few thrown arround

 

For me I can work around the 19th and 20th, a friday and saturday.

Land Use Permits: A Land use permit is required for each person entering the Coal Creek OHV Area.

Cost for the permits are as follows:
$17.00 Daily permit
$33.00 Two day permit
$44.00 Three day permit
$55.00 Four day permit
$88.00 Yearly permit

Each person, no matter their age or activity, must have a permit. Each person entering the area is required to have their permit along with the pink copy of their permit with them at all times while on the property.

Land Use Permits can be purchased at the Windrock Park Campground office (555 Windrock Park Lane, Oliver Springs, TN 37840), the Snack Shack located at the trail head (912 Windrock Road, Oliver Springs, TN 37840), and Exxon Fun Food, 557 Tri-County Boulevard, Oliver Springs, TN 37840. The Snack Shack will be selling permits from 7:00 am until 6:00 pm or close. They also have trail maps and other Coal Creek OHV Area merchandise. The Snack Shack can be reached at (865) 435-6971

RV Sites (39) - Full Hookups: 30,50 amps, 110 - $38 per night for 2 people - each additional person over 15 years old $3.
Cabins (10) - Sleeps 4 - $100 per night
Primitive Camping (25) - 2 Campers - $16 per night - each additional person over 15 years old $3.
Long Term RV Sites - $290 per month

The RV sites include water, sewer, electricity, concrete patios, picnic tables, fire rings, and bath house.
Cabins are furnished with 2 bunk beds, kitchenette.

The Coal Creek OHV Trail System is accessible from all sites without travel on public roads.

Check in time is after 2:00PM
Check out time is before 10:00AM


Windrock Campground

865-435-3939 or 865-659-3939 Windrock Campground is located approximately 2 miles from the trail head. You can ride straight from the campground to the trail head without having to trailer your off road vehicle.

The Campround works closely with those that maintain the riding area and help support all efforts to keep it going strong. We encourage you to visit their campground when in the area.

well im off that whole weekend. fri-sun sounds good to me. although I wont have a tacoma, But I do have a Runner now

 

the runner will be fine. most likely we wont do any gnarly trails since most of us have never taken a truck there

 

So no one has been down these trails? Could be fun. I am also willing to head somewheres else if the group deems it a good spot to ride. I'm there and want to have a good time.

 

If the gates were open around here I could take everyone for a great ride. Actually a couple great rides.

I wanted to get this going before I forget, with all the packing for my daughter and Gf. I'll be there from the 12th-21st. Looking to wheel on the 20th. I have a 12+hr drive home so I must leave with enough time to get my GF to work on monday.

Well gents I have your numbers. I'll be leaving around midnight tonight and going to Nashville. Sleeping there tomorrow and heading to Pigeon Forge saturday. I found out that we will have the internet there so i'll keep in touch.

oh my gosh i wish i could go!!! if i cuold only talk pops into letting me wheel bc ill be off saturday.

 

95% of it is not hard offroading from what I hear.

 

Kinda glad the wheeling isn't supposed to be too rough. My truck will be loaded with all the lugage as well as myself, 4yr old daughter, GF, and GF's cousin. Jam packed. But still want some challenge, building up experience. Not to mention I have a 10+ hr drive home afterwards.

I'm in Nashville right now at the motel, heading to Pigeon Forge tomorrow morning. Staying in one of the Timber Top cabins.

 

Hey gents I was looking over the maps and notice that tomorrow I will be passing damn near through Oliver Springs where the park is. What would be the chances of maybe meeting up tomorrow? Just curious plans here changed and we aren't doing anything tomorrow but driving to the cabin and getting situated. If thats a no go its all good I will still be open for the 20th. Just a thought, let me know what you are all thinking.
