I used this SAME video and showed it to the SA and the Tech, I also recorded one myself as well. Showed that to them too. The SA said it happened on his '11 too and he took out the antenna and it went away---no can do here since I listen to radios.

They both want to "take a ride and see" but there is NO WINDS so that is NO can do neither.

I went home disappointed because they have no idea what is wrong.

I have the same thing on my '13 dbl cab long bed. Also took to dealer (Roseville Toyota) and they did nothing. Very poor customer service.

My whistle went away after I installed a bug shield. I only get it know when I'm close to 100mph.

Well I would take it in to another dealer because I called a dealer yesterday and they are very aware of the issue so they set up an appointment for mine to fix it. Toyota is also aware of the problem but I guess they just don't have enough complaints yet to do a recall..

Trust me its NOT the antenna, its the trim around the windshield and it is a warranty issue if yours is still under warranty.. What is happening is the trim around the windshield starts to vibrate against the windshield at higher speeds, that is what I was told from the service dept. and they have fix a few already.

Update - this was happening again and I got the Service Manager on the phone while it was happening. Took it down to the dealership and they had an employee that knew what was causing the problem. They did not replace the windshield but they re-glued the window gaskets and it seems to be working.

Has anyone found a confirmed solution to this issue yet? This thread, and others, seem to suggest either an issue with the seal on the windshield, seal on the passenger door, the antenna, or the seal on the mirrors. Some good suggestions, but they seem all over the place?

Here is a link to the noise my car is making - sounds identical to the noises every one else is having!

Cant believe it is still happening, Toyota is not too worried about it because they feel its not a safety issue. I had mine fixed by a auto glass replacement company, they didn't even charge me, it took all of 2 minutes to fix. Its the rubber trim at the top of the windshield where it meets the roof, they just ran a bead of window caulking between the rubber trim and the roof and the noise is gone.

So far this has been repaired. The dealership maybe put a bandage on it, but they resealed the windshield and haven't had the noise again. Still have the window noise and they finally said there was noise and they replaced the gasket. That didn't help!
Anyone have any fixes for the window?

I get the same noise with a strong cross wind. I get it from both sides, depending on the direction of the wind. It sounds like the noise is coming from the front of the hood on the upwind side. I believe it's the gap seal along the front of the hood.

Since I had no luck getting this issue addressed by my dealer, I contacted Toyota Corporate directly. This is the lovely response that I received (personal info redacted). They confirm this issue is well known with the Tacoma and there is no action planned to address it.

I have the same noises, spoke to the dealer about it and was told it's normal, they did ask what year truck I had though. Anyone had any luck with dealers around the greater Charlotte, Nc area?

I guess things must be different with dealers down there, up here in Vancouver the dealers DO address the problem...

with the strong wind we've been having here lately, I have been getting the noise quite often. I finally figured out where it was coming from. It is the driver and front passenger side windows. When the noise happens I can push on the window along the front edge near the track seal and the noise gets muted. I'm going to investigate how to tighten up the window track seal to see if I can stop this annoyance.

Its the soft door seals. Tape one of the doors closed with electrical tape to test it out. We should have enough wind through today in TX to easily reproduce this. Run a single strip tape from the fender all along the top seam of the door covering the soft seal between the door and cab.

I took my truck into the dealer with the passenger door taped shut and asked them if that was cool.... LOL They finally replaced the passenger door seal last year once I was able to find the root cause. They replace the driver side last month after it started making the noise this past summer. I no longer have the noise in the video above..

Don't get me wrong, the truck still whistles like nobody's business, but the vibrating nastiness is gone.

I also have a 2014 short bed Tacoma that whistles in the wind above 70 mph. It matches the two videos posted. If you pull in on the A frame section of the door frame metal portion from the interior the noise goes away. This happens on both the DS and PS doors. With the windshield TSB this is not applicable to the 2014 within AllData, usually when issued they address future models. Has anyone tried rolling the door windows down and applying pressure to the A frame portion of the door to bend it inward and improve the sealing of the weather stripping?
