So the diff regear came to a dead stop due to some health problems and a union strike. But getting on track again with a small "keep me in the game" project. hahaha.
hear are some pics and lesson learned is measure 3X and cut once and never paint before its all complete. lol

I made both of these brackets the same size. Now i bolted them on and the rear should be ok but the front is too short.
looks like the bed is wider in front than rear on the 2nd gen. 1st pic is the front bracket stickout and second is the rear.

Looking good! With your rtt on, you aren’t planning on opening the tonneau?

To be honest I don't know how things are going to work untill this is done.
We will both find out when the RTT arrives
The RTT rack I'm building to work with tonneau so it's outside if the bed rails.
I'm making it up as I go.

love it. Those projects are always fun. Especially when you don’t have much into materials.

looking at this photo I can see how the tonneau would work assuming he current crossbars are gone. I honestly thought the bars you had is where the rtt was going to sit. Appears it’s going to be higher.

    nice job!

actually that was the plan until a late night at work and 5am finish and impluse buy of the clam shell type rtt. its too long to sit on the tonneau without sticking out a foot. the bars over the tonneau unbolt in seconds. I still have to come up with a way to keep it from becoming a parallel a gram... yep fun projects for sure... so far its 89 dollars in the steel tubing, the welding wire and gas and my time dose not count cause i like doing it. as long as its under 250 I'll be happy with it.

Making another bed rack in progress...it just has to hold an RTT so used scrap peices I had laying around. 1 1/4 square tubing yes skinny but had a length of it in the garage. Angles ate cut at 35 degrees and it follows the angle of the back window.
