removed front drive shaft as the truck has 2 different gears sets in the diffs. did not want any accidents with the 4wd lever. anyway 2km around the block and the pinion seal is leaking?? Tired and had enough for today other than that no strange noises or anything. mid left turn i have to change from 1st to 2nd  that's the way it was when I got it bone stock.
Now i have to make time for the front and find out why a new pinion seal is leaking.

Well it was not that easy to get it back up there but not that hard either. One guy can do it by him self if he's careful but to have another set of hands would have been nice.

As for the bearing or hub nut.
.025 of old diff shims aligned it perfectly at 180 ft. Lbs.

There's always some little thing that needs fixing it was a cracked bracket holding the exhaust that needed fixing.

Started a new project today. Those who know me can probably guess as to what it will be.

I had a similar catch when I was working on mine a few years back, the ring grove in the yoke was blown out. I had to replace the whole thing.

It's getting there. It's going to be a rack to hold my camp stove microwave and fridge behind my driver's seat.

Thank you, and I'm reserving my liking of this set up as I've changed my set up at least 10 times over the 6 years of ownership. I hope this one lasts.

Made up a air hose hanger with switch for the air compressor. Not going to win any grinding/painting awards but good for an afternoons work.

According to Rock Auto, National 710525 is for the 8.4" non-E-locker rear. For the 8.0" E-locker rear, it's National 710697 (i.e. interchangeable with the 8.0" front pinion seal). Another alternate is SKF 16114. Both are alternates to Toyota P/N 90311-41009.

Everything is looking pretty good. Pinion bearings were loose. I don't know why. I'm thinking at this point just go back to the crush sleeve instead of the solid spacer

Okay, so the pinion bearing preload is by way of the stock crush sleeve that apparently you're not supposed to use. Even though it was used, I still had to crush it even more to get the preload on the pinion bearings. I did not measure it. I went by feel this time. The backlash was reset. It was 18 to 20 when I took it apart. Now it's exactly.10. I did not change pinion depth so why the pattern is like this now? I don't know but I'm going to run it
