I'm not sure if this is an access cab only thing but when my windows are open my face and head takes a direct beating from the wind running off of the truck. Would rain guards redirect the wind a bit? Does anyone else notice this?

Same issue here, thought it was only me. Access cab as well. I cant even light a cigarette over 35mph in my truck. 10x as much wind as my 4dr silverado with all the windows down.

It severely cuts down on noise and let's let crack your windows a little without allowing them to look open on hot days. Best money ever spent outside of Dynamat style acoustic matting.

My AC does the same. I open the rear sliding window and the effect is greatly reduced. Of course, I tend to forget to close it later...

My windows haven’t been 100% closed since I bought the deflectors. It also sits outside. Best money spent. Mine are EGR.

extra leaf springs on 2012. Topper on 2015.
Love them! I have them on both of mine. Both live outside right now(garage is my woodshop, for building my house). In summer I always leave the windows down as low as I can( not have the rain get it), & with the windshield screen, stays a lot cooler inside. Plus can leave the windows down a lot farther when parking with my dogs. I fact at highway speeds, it seems like I can leave all the way down in a light rain....... for the dog to stick his head out, with them.

I like mine cause you can open the windows a little when it’s blowing horizontal rain outside and everything that has already been said in this thread. I got them hoping they would reduce the wind slamming my ear forcing me to roll my windows up. They do not. The wind still slams me in the ear. I noticed no difference, but there are a lot of other benefits to having them, and they are worth the money. Installation was easy. It says EGR on them, so I guess that’s the brand.

I have weathertechs on my gen III.
I have used them for years on Tacoma and other vehicles and loved them.

This time I don't like them so much....

They are very sleek and blend tightly and beautifully with the contour of the truck however because of that very feature, when you open the widow you find the drip line is inside of your door.

Ones that stand proud of the door might work better.

They did work well with my Gen II.

Just picked up some in channel AVS, for $30 it's worth a gamble. EGR were second on the list

I have had the WeatherTech in-channel.
They have been on there almost 10 years now.
I love them. I can’t say I have an issue with wind to my face.
Best part about the in-channel type is the can be removed and put back in if you ever need to.
I swapped mine over when I went from my Pre-Runner to my current O/R.

Just a follow up - I installed the AVS deflectors and it did reduce the wind a good amount, it isn't perfect or like other cars but did help, these will be useful next summer
