There are some very touchy individuals on this board as you have discovered lol.

I have the AVS low profile in-channel window visors. When it's hot out it's nice to have the windows down a few inches without worrying about rain. It definitely keeps it cooler in the cab.

I’ve got the AVS in channel ones and I like them, easy to install. I can leave the windows cracked while at work and I’m not one of the people sprinting to close their windows when it starts raining! :rain: I removed the white, painted on AVS from mine before installing.

ok so it seems from the opinions that they are worthwhile and will help you to keep your window open 2-3 inches in the rain without drowning your arm rest, as well as keeping a window cracked open while parked, which would certainly be helpful for me. I live in south Florida and my wife's Prius and my Honda Goldwing occupy the garage, with the Taco relegated to the driveway. Now the question becomes, Weathertech or AVS? AVS is less expensive by a good chunk and has a low profile option, but even though it's in channel it uses adhesive, which I hate. Weathertech is a lot more expensive but does not use adhesive. Clips for the rear and nothing additional in the front. Decisions, decisions lol

They’re selling really well in the 21st century for people who value function over fad ;)
Have the in channel Weathertechs. Keeps my truck much cooler in the summers when parked with the windows down a bit, keeps rain out when I have the windows down a bit, shaded the sun when it’s at certain positions in the sky. And as a bonus, annoys some of the latest fad following lemmings :D

My weather tech for my 3rd gen came with some clips. I bought them because weathwr tech advertises "made in America." But the deflectors say "made in germany" on them. Still, no issues though, just a surprise.

According to their installation video the clips are for the rear (for the double cab). The fronts go on with nothing additional. Was that your experience?

I had the WXtech on my 02 and liked them. Bought same make for my 16 and like them.

I have the AVS inchannel ones. I like them. Good for allowing some air in when it's raining. Also good for letting some heat out when you park not letting water in if it rains while parked.

My Jeep Liberty had them before and I Was still in my 30s when I bought that so I can't say it's an old person thing. It's a little thing that has a use and adds a bit of a different look. If you like the idea and look get it. It's your truck do what you like. Don't let people judge you or call you old fart for it.

I bought my Weathertech's, unboxed them, and threw the box away before the arrival of my new truck. When I went to install the rear visors, I realized I had tossed the clips away in the box. One quick call to Weathertech and they overnighted me a set of clips, no charge.

    In channel or nothing.

Gotta laugh at the the ones that are glued to your paint, and most of them are broken, cracked or missing 1 or 2 deflectors.

But ya, they're worth it. You can leave the windows open a crack parked in the heat, and when driving in the rain.

I'm not the biggest fan of the look, but the functional benefits are undeniable. After having one too many experiences of all the collected water on my roof (while parked) pouring in through my cracked driver side window when taking a right turn, I finally decided to get some. AVS low profile in channel.

-You can crack windows without fear of water coming in.
-You can park with windows cracked for ventilation without it being immediately obvious that they are open. I only crack rear windows so that someone would have a harder time snaking in something to hit the front door unlock switch.

As for the "old person thing", what are you, 12? Oh right, TW, carry on.

The Weathertechs definitely have a low profile appearance, also. I was actually surprised how little they stuck out.
