I took delivery of my 2024 Tacoma TRD Pro a few weeks ago, and right away I noticed wind noise emanating from the rear driver's side window. I brought the truck to the dealer, who said, yes, other trucks make the same noise. Following up, I was told the factory rep acknowledged that Toyota was aware of the issue, but they had no further info to share.

Anyone else out there experiencing this issue? If you have, have you raised it with your dealer?

I have the TRD Off-Road that also have some noise on the driver's side. Mine sounds like a ticking sound. It stops when I push against the door with my elbow. What does your noise sound like? I have taken it to the dealership twice and it doesn't make the sound when they have it.

If it's the same issue as Gen2 and Gen3, the black rubber window weather stripping lets a little air thru and causes a faint whistling noise. Seemed to happen at the corners where the rubber has to make a bend. The ghetto fix my friends and I always did was cover the inner gap between weather stripping and door with electrical tape. Seemed to have to replace the tape every 2 years or so. We always joked about who would bite first at silicone caulking the gap.

This was actually a TSB/recall on prior years: https://static.nhtsa.gov/odi/tsbs/2018/MC-10131725-9999.pdf

Yeah I have it too but I only notice it when I turn my head such as to look out the side window. Facing forward I don’t hear it. The only noise to bother me so far is a rattle when there is bass in a song. Traced it to the passenger side B-pillar where the seatbelt is. Folded some electric tape into 3 layers and slid it in the gap. Seems to have fixed it.

Could you post a picture of the gap and how you fixed it? I think I’m getting the same thing.

I was wrong about that location but I did find the right one. Ended up using some cloth pipe insulation wrap and cut it to about 2 inch wide by 6 inch long. Used some plastic trim tools & wedged it here in the picture. Bass rattle gone for good, took me forever to find the right spot since from the driver’s side you can’t tell where it’s coming from. If you push on the right side of that trim piece that says “TRD” and the rattle stops, then this will fix your rattle. upload_2024-9-18_7-18-36.jpg

yes, the consistently reported rattles are door related and I fixed it with 3M tape (but it’s on the inside not the outside and it’s my back door - is your front door?) I’ve got a thread about it here, but I’ll post a picture below. The other “rattle” I discovered was just the bed extender hopping up and down on rough roads and speed bumps - I’m selling it first chance I get because the dealer shoved it onto me and I never use them. I have a 2015 Tacoma. I found at highway speeds (and typically only when there was a crosswind) my driver's side window or door frame made this loud whistling sound. It took me forever, but I finally figured out it was the door frame, and was able to fix it. I bought a roll of foam (with a sticky side) from Home Depot and ran it inside the door frame between the door and windshield. IMG_0395.jpg
