Looking to see if the forum can assist: I’m getting a ‘Window Open’ warning on my dash after I shut off the truck, and again when return to the truck and open the door. The visual warning is accompanied by an audible alarm.

I’ve tried to resolve it by fully opening and closing all 6 windows. Also, there is no corresponding notice of an open window in the app.

    Any ideas?

probably a sensor problem. besides opening and closing the windows i doubt there is much that can be done.

add... Maybe a battery reset will help

Thanks - I was wondering about a battery reset but hoping I don’t have to go there.

Thanks! I guess I’ll go see if the sensor got damaged (interestingly I’m on a road trip where I’ve had all 3 rear seatbelts in use).

P.S. That tacoma4g thread went off the rails fast…lol.
P.P.S. I have 3 14yr old boys in the back for this trip. They fit just fine.

That was exactly it - thank you, thank you. TW for the win :)

The sensor has a crappy cover that would probably fall off if a fly farted on it. Easily reseated, thankfully.

    6 windows?

    4 door + rear window + ?

    Where is #6?

I don't have a 4g, but I do read about them, so this caught my attention.

    What am I missing?

Nothing like manual windows they work when the truck won't start they don't need an OTA update they won't trip a sensor and put an icon on your dash. People will laugh at them but they have always worked for me. Another thing people thing they need and don't because it does nothing is dual zone climate control, it creates extra work because I have to adjust two temperature settings in stead of one the Tacoma has an interior on the small side. I can see the rear row might need it's own temperature settings on a Sequoia or Sienna.

Agree, because actual can temp balances very quickly, even though duct nozzle temps may vary enough to make one think the difference matters

No sync feature? Even my 14 RAV has that.

There might be I'll have to look. I don't like looking at two different temperatures at once.

Sync fixes that. Push it and the PS matches the DS and stays that way.

Yeah there's a sync button and must have forgot it was there, maybe I was thinking of syncing of phone. I push the sync button adjust the temp on both sides but the next time I adjust the temp I have to push the sync button again.

Why did the simplest controls in a vehicle become so redundant? When you jump in an unfamiliar vehicle you shouldn't have to look for buttons and need to try to addapt to all of these nuances to adjust the temperature and fan speed. Setting - Tempature - and Fan speed is all that you need.

Apparently on the 4G you can't turn the AC compressor completely off if you want to. Maybe you can if you turn of the auto climate setting but I haven't seen that confirmed. Why does the compressor need to run if I haven't physically turned on the AC.

    Edit

If there was a vehicle with dual zone and manual windows I'd never feel the difference in temp on the passenger side when I lean over there to crank the window.
