so i was out driving today (in cold snowy weather) and my driver side window decides its going to roll down and not come back up:mad:.
anyways about five minutes late of freezing my ass off it decides to go back up:D. But then goes back down... i pulled in my driving way turned the truck off and on a few times and it eventually went back up hoping it decides to stay there because well Canada is cold:canada:

anyways any thoughts??? electric things are not my forte thats for sure

    Could be a regulator issue.

Pound on the door when it decides to do it. Or grab a test lamp, jump the connector with it and let it sit there. It it turns on without pushing the button, then it is either the BCM (button request) or the actual button. If it dosent, then it is a regulator. Sounds like to me, something is jumping somewhere. Possibly rubbed wore grounding itself out or bcm grounding it out.

The only thing that controls the window motor on the driver's door is the switch mounted to the driver's door. And it appears to have electronics in it for the auto down function. I would feel confident ordering a switch to fix the problem. It would be rare for a wiring short to behave this way.

Regulator (motor and gears) is fine. A bad regulator isn't going to cause spontaneous movement without driver input.

I don't know what "module" is being referred to above, but the body control module only switches power on and off with the ignition and enables the window switches.

    Hadn't thought of that.

Just tell the little guy to play with the passenger side window so you don't freeze you ears off quite so fast.
