Why do i get the tacomas with rattling windows? First my 23, then with my 2024. If the windows are down a few inches, go over bumps and it's annoying.

In addition to the rattle, and had it in my 23 as well, in the cold front window down a few inches, and you get this terrible clicking noise over bumps. Press on the black trim near the bottom front, where it's supports the glass in the corner and it stops.

No, in not going to the dealer. Two attempts, by different dealers on my 2023, and they couldn't fix it but managed to make it worse.

Who else has this issue and anyone resolve it themselves?

If it's followed you between versions, is it actually something you're pulling in the door pockets? And just sounding different?
(Example, in another vehicle I had this persistent day rattle driving me insane. Couldn't solve it no matter what I tried. Ended up being a part in the spring mechanism within the rearview mirror, which stopped if I flipped it to glare/night mode. The sound acoustic was bouncing off the glass and made it appear as if it was the dash to my ear.)

If indeed your door, with nothing loaded on it, and you want to root cause, you can do it by process of elimination.

Remove the interior trim door card and do a test drive. Did it stop? If not, can you better pinpoint it? Remove the vapor barrier so you can touch things. Repeat the test? Find it? Add some temporary pipe foam insulation or a rag/towel around the window track in the door. Stopped? Touch the lock or handle cables or bars. Stopped? Only one door? Only front? Only rear?

Or take to the dealer and force them to root cause. If the truck is empty of belongings there should be zero rattling under and condition and they need to solve it. The design engineer would not okay that to exist in tolerance, as a rattle by nature means two or more parts are contacting that shouldn't causing a wear point that isn't meant to be there.

Ha. That's my name and I'm sti
Nothing in the truck or doors to cause the rattle. Nothing else causing it because it only happens over bumps with windows downn. The loud click i can fix by pushing on the triangular black plastic piece as I mentioned earlier.

    Plethora of "useless" shit
I think it’s been happening since first gens. My 2001 had it, 2008 had it, 2009 had it, and now my 2024 has it (not as bad as the 2nd gen though)

This is driving me insane... I've had the truck since April.. Didn't notice all summer when it started getting cold it seemed to start... It sounds like it's rattling back and forth over every little bump in the road... Halfway down and lower is fine but anything cracked open slightly rattles like crazy

I don't know that you have a lot of options. You can complain about it. Or you can take it to the dealer to get fixed.

I'm gonna try this fix... Apparently it's happened to a few 4th gen owners and previous gens...

Take it in for warranty repair. It’s their job to fix it . If they don’t do it right talk to the service manager.
I was a mechanic and foreman it a GM dealer for many years , rattles can be fixed.
