I noticed that the exterior rubber around the door windows and the rear window has a rough feeling buildup of some sort. I used a small piece of scotch brite on them and it removed the roughness but I can still see it. Kinda like it's pitting.

Anyone else have this on their truck and have you had any luck removing it so that it can't be seen?

Yup. Have it on my 2011. I too have used an abrasive pad to minimize it but can't get it to go completely away.

    It is Mold.

I treat mine with liquid silicone every wash day. Looks like new still.

What I've got isn't mold...it actually pitted the rubber. It looks like the result of acid rain exposure or some type of chemical reaction with the rubber.

Regardless of what it is exactly. The silicone seems to prevent it. It may also help to stop it.

Ive got it too, my truck was only about 2 years old when I noticed it.

Magic erasers work on it, but it never bothered me enough to do the whole thing. Looks like the previous owner scratched up some of my paint trying to remove it too.

Look like it could be the result of mineral deposits? Like water spots.
