Access cab owners...... When you had your windows tinted did get the 2 access cab windows tinted? Reason I ask is those 2 small windows the privacy glass is darker in them than it is in the back glass. I'm thinking just get the back glass and the driver/passenger windows done in 20% tint.

My 2007 AC was factory tinted I believe, I bought it used but the back 3 windows were pretty close to 30%. So I just did the two front windows at 30 and a 5% eyebrow, and I'm happy as can be. I'm not sure how the new ACs come from the factory but if you look from outside the truck the side windows will look darker because you don't have as much light coming through the sides as you do the front windshield. If you havent already, get inside and compare the windows against similar backgrounds to make sure. Hope this helps!

I'm pretty sure the side and rear privacy glass are the same shade from the factory.
I got my 2 fronts tinted to 35%, that's the darkest you can go here legally. They are a shade lighter than the factory privacy glass.
Any tint shop can tell you what is legal in your state.

35% here in Illinois but tint shops will do what you want, except the windshield, that will get their license pulled. If you have privacy glass they recommend 20% because it is the closest match to the privacy glass.

I just cannot see paying the same money as he charges for the front 2 windows to do the access cab windows which are 1 square foot. ($80 for both)

City cop here in Olney, IL. has a white double cab Ford F-150 with the windows tinted so dark you can barely make out his silhouette.

Tried to post some side pics with light coming through. 20 ceramic on the front to match the rears. All depends on the brand but 3m ceramic is a real close match to the back factory. Mine might looks a tad darker cause I have 50 ceramic on the windshield as well.D1EA8EA2-E787-4A89-B8C1-704F0EDE801B.jpg

Not an access cab owner, but I am a window tinter. 20% on the front doors will come close to matching, but keep in mind that the windshield will always let more light in which makes the fronts look a little lighter than the rear.

I got a precut kit and did mine myself. It's easy, and reasonable, about $70. Pay extra for solar guard or ceramic tint. I did all 4 side windows 5%. Have a topper, so didnt do the back. Can't see $hit at night, but that is what the backup cam is for. Or just roll down the windows. Don't care about the little door windows could just paint them black for allI care.

I'm curious where did you get your pre-cut kit at?

I got precut kits for my last 2 trucks at this place:

    https://www.precutautotint.com/

May be others that are cheaper, but i like the option of getting better tint. Good thing about trucks, all the windows are flat.

Hey thanks Corey for the information. I don't know why I didn't stop to think about the black, 2016 SR5 Tacoma I traded off 10 months ago. It has 20% Llumar tint on just the front windows. May change my order with the tint guy next week and just get the front 2 done. If he don't like it I'll take it to someone else.

If you want tint for the heat reduction (like me) you can get the access cab panels done with clear tint. That's what I did for my windshield.

It depends what you want. If you just want your front windows tinted darker for privacy or if you are looking for heat/UV protection. The rear darker glass is just dyed, it offers little to no heat or UV protection. I tinted my front and tears to give my kids and myself protection from UV and also keep my truck cooler. I used a very light tint on the rears and darker on the fronts for a better match.
