Roughly about 2 years ago I developed a strange rattle coming from my rear passenger door. It was really bad and noticed a lot of play in the window when closing my door. Since I don't really use that door too much I kind of put it on the back burner until yesterday. Here's WTF I found:

When I opened the panel the factory plastic guard was already ripped and when I pulled the window track out from the bottom of the door the bolts that hold it in place were no where to be found. Even one of the small pieces of plastic door trim was missing.

Since my truck is a 2007 (I bought it brand new) I'm not going to bring it up to the dealership. However, through my judgement it looks like the door probably got damaged (but no evidence of bodywork done) prior to delivery to my dealership and got a rinky dink fix job. Luckily I had two bolts that matched up perfectly and reinstalled everything. Now door shuts normally, no loud clatter.

    Thanks for listening T'dub bretherens.

Of course we are all guessing what happened... It only started 2 years ago and the window track was laying in the bottom of the door. The bolts probably rattled loose and fell out somewhere. I think If it was like that when you got it it wouldn't have waited three years to start rattling...
