You can hear the motor working just a little harder on my drivers side. It I expect that will reduce over time. It seems less then when I first installed it.

I'm the 2nd owner of my LC and mine are Toyota branded so i think they came with the truck from the factory that way. They've been on for 24 years and took a beating. Love them.

Hey, thanks for all the input/pics! (I guess they don't look so bad after all .. LOL!)
I ordered the AVS sticky-back ones from Wally-World. If they have the super-duty 3M stuff on them, I'm not worried about them coming off. Maybe ever.. LOL! ... And I know it'll be a 'You better get it right the first time' thing, but that's OK. Been there done that.
I was almost gonna get the in-channel ones as some suggested, but I started to think I didn't want anything that might deform the weather-stripping .. Anyway, we'll see what happens and I'll post pics afterwards.

Thanks Bruce, been collecting them for years. I have 1909 and every year after that up until PA began using the sticker system. There are several porcelain ones prior to 09 that I haven’t purchased yet, the prices on that style has skyrocketed.

love mine, just make sure you get the ones that go inside the door seal channel and don’t stick to the outside of the door

My shop was that clean & tidy.. once .. LOL!
I know what you mean about the plates. I have a bit of a collection, but not as old/nice as yours. People used to just throw them away or use for target practice. I look on ETSY every now and then and yeah, the prices are insane. I'm blaming 'American Pickers' .. LOL!

That's awesome. I used to see them used similarly in IL and IN. Thanks for sharing them.

I am really happy with the weathertech ones. I had never been a fan of the look in the past. I myself like driving with the window open as well when I can. I find with modern cars the aerodynamic are so good that the wind noise is too load for my liking. With these on i find the noise is more bearable.

I have the AVS in channel ones on my Tacoma. I'm Happy with them. I considered Weather tech but AVS was a little bit less and I have a good experience with them warranting their products. I had the stick on ones on my old Liberty CRD and I leaned in on one loading a kayak on the roof and cracked it. They replaced it with a new set sent to me. Another time the hood guard broke in an automatic wash, they replaced that too. Once they asked me to email my Amazon invoice the other time they just wanted a pic of the broken part.

Ditto. Not generally a fan, but the in-channel flush model looks good actually.

I have the in-channel AVS on my Wrangler. I went with Weathertech for my Tacoma. I realize the vehicles are different, but I'm neutral on whether one is better than the other. They both serve the purpose for which I got them.

When I bought my truck they had the stick on outside visors. They were broken and I've since replaced them but I replaced them with the same, stick on outside ones for one main reason. If they break again or need to be replaced good luck getting the adhesive off of the weather stripping/felt on the inside of the channel. I've never had to do it but I feel like it would be a nightmare.
