i used mine to crack the windows in the winter and let some cool air in while i'm driving and the defroster is blasting hot air on my windshield/face. love having them. very helpful. don't care if they look bad or good.

also LOL at people saying "don't do it if it's only for aesthetics" - half of you have shiny aftermarket wheels and raptor lights. (nothing wrong with either, just don't go around telling people not to do things for aesthetics... while you do things for aesthetics...)

I always take my dog unless it's to hot . When it's in the sixties and seventies I crack all four windows about inch and a half for fresh air for Sadie and you can't tell they are cracked . I just got my front windows tinted 35% and that's legal here and looks great . The backs are 20% but the fronts are dark enough for me and match pretty good .

I was about to call you out on your back in the day time frame, but I think you are spot on. Those contraptions gained popularity as vent windows vanished from doors. The last car that had vent windows was......

@Sungod I remember those vent windows. I'd almost forgotten they existed. Those were a Godsend back in the day!

Non-smoker, but I like the look and the functionality, you can leave your windows cracked for heat and it hides the fact they are down slightly making your vehicle less targetable, sometimes I like to have the windows cracked just a touch so I can hear and smell the rain when driving without getting wet. Maybe that's a weird nature thing... But they also work nicely as a little sun shade so you don't have to constantly flip the visor left and right as you follow the road with the sun at a bad angle.
